Bien Chido Mexican Restaurant Review

One of my regular haunts for tacos is located on West Broward Boulevard, and let me tell you—it instantly felt like a Mexican culinary celebration. From the moment I walked in to Bien Chido many years ago, the cheerful, modern decor and the intoxicating aroma of freshly grilled meats drew me in. As someone who’s always hunting down authentic Mexican flavors, this place truly exceeded expectations.

This is truly a “hole in the wall” vibe as it’s located in a very unpretentious location in a bustling Publix plaza with many other businesses.  In my opinion, they are the top draw here in the plaza outside of the Publix grocery store, and in my Bien Chido review, you’ll find out just why I still drive here despite having the newly opened Tacos La Potranca in Weston.

My Bien Chido Review and Why I’m a HUGE Fan of this Mexican Restaurant

Let’s start with the starters.  I always get a basket of crisp tortilla chips paired with their house-made guacamole and salsa trio. The guac was creamy with just the right hint of lime, while the spicy salsa had a bold, smoky kick that paired perfectly with everything else I ordered.

Bien Chido Tacos

Moving past the starters, this place is known locally for their authentic tacos.  Here’s a few of the items you’ll find on the taco menu.

  • Quesabirria Tacos: Absolutely phenomenal. Hand-folded and griddled to a golden crisp, each taco oozed savory birria goodness. The rich consommé for dipping had me hooked from the first bite.

  • Al Pastor Tacos: Juicy pork with caramelized pineapple bits on warm corn tortillas—mouthwatering and perfectly balanced.

  • Carne Asada Tacos: Tender steak grilled with care, topped with fresh cilantro and onions. A classic done magnificently.

Burritos and More

I couldn’t resist a chipotle chicken burrito, which was generously packed and wrapped beautifully without getting soggy. Plus, their vegetarian burrito option is just as flavorful—plenty of guac, veggies, and beans to satisfy herbivores like me.

The Sides & Extras

  • The elote (Mexican street corn) was a creamy, spicy side dish that paired incredibly well with my tacos.

  • I also sampled their bowls and quesadillas—both earned rave reviews from my dining companions. And don’t get me started on their selection of refreshing aguas frescas and authentic Mexican sodas!

For me, the real winner here is the refried beans.  They aren’t salty like most commercial recipes. They are out of this world if you are a fan of authentic refried beans.

Summary

What really set Bien Chido apart was the attention to detail: care in every dish, warm and friendly service, and that unbeatable aroma of real Mexican street fare. For me, it’s a step ahead of Chilacos Tacos, which I also give very high praise.
